Mitsubishi Electric was founded in 1921 in Japan and pioneered the modern ductless mini-split heat pump that now dominates global residential HVAC outside the US. In the United States Mitsubishi's HVAC division (Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US, a joint venture with Trane Technologies) sells the M-Series, P-Series, and Hyper Heat lineups along with central air handlers and the H2i variable-capacity inverter platform.
Mitsubishi specializes in ductless mini-split and multi-zone systems plus central inverter air handlers. The Hyper Heat (H2i) platform delivers full rated capacity down to 5°F — irrelevant for the Treasure Coast but a marker of overall inverter quality.
15–20 years on properly installed ductless. Indoor head bearings and drain pumps are typical wear items at 8–12 years.
Mitsubishi ductless is the right answer for additions, garages, lanais, casitas, condos without duct space, and historic homes on Hutchinson Island. It is usually not the right answer for a standard 3-ton replacement in a typical Port St. Lucie or Tradition home with working ducts — a Carrier or Trane central system is usually a better value.
Mitsubishi offers a Blue Fin coating standard on outdoor units which provides modest salt-air resistance. For homes within 1/4 mile of the ocean we still recommend an aftermarket coastal coating and quarterly rinses.
SEER2 up to 27 on ductless single-zone systems — among the most efficient residential equipment available.
12-year compressor and parts warranty on H2i registered systems through Diamond Contractor dealers.
Mitsubishi is the gold standard for ductless and inverter technology. For the right application — additions, garage conversions, lanais, condos, second-floor master suites — there is nothing better. For typical whole-home replacements with existing ducts, we usually recommend Carrier or Trane central systems instead because the cost-per-ton is meaningfully lower.

“Devon has provided thorough maintenance and excellent service. Truly family-owned care — they treat your home like it's their own. Highly recommend for Treasure Coast homeowners.”
“Working with Devon on my HVAC system was a great experience from start to finish. Fair, clean install, and the system has been running perfectly through Florida summer heat.”
Yes, in our experience. Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Fujitsu lead the category — Mitsubishi has the best reliability record we see in the field.
Single zone installed: $4,500–$8,000+ depending on size, head count, and electrical work. Multi-zone systems run higher.
For ductless applications, yes. For ducted central, the math usually favors Carrier or Trane.
15–20 years with annual deep cleaning and quarterly outdoor rinses.
