What's Included

Everything that matters, covered in writing.

Compass Protection 10™ is included at no additional charge on qualifying Maritime Air installations. Each pillar below is documented in your signed warranty agreement.

10-Year Manufacturer Parts Warranty

Every qualifying installation is registered with the manufacturer the day it's installed. Ten full years of factory parts coverage on the system's major components — documented, transferable per manufacturer terms, and on file with Maritime Air.

10-Year Major Component Labor Warranty

Manufacturer parts coverage doesn't include labor. We fill that gap. If a covered major component fails within 10 years, our labor to diagnose, remove, and reinstall the replacement part is included.

  • Compressor
  • Evaporator coil
  • Condenser coil
  • Indoor blower motor
  • Outdoor fan motor
  • ECM motor / module (where equipped)
  • Other major components specifically listed in the warranty agreement

10 Years of Precision Maintenance

Two visits per year, every year, for a decade. Twenty documented tune-ups that keep the system running to spec, protect the warranty, and catch small issues before they become expensive ones.

  • Indoor and outdoor system inspection
  • Condenser coil cleaning
  • Drain line clearing and flush
  • Full electrical testing (capacitors, contactors, connections)
  • Airflow verification across return and supply
  • Refrigerant performance testing (superheat / subcooling)
  • Written documentation and photos after every visit

Priority Scheduling

Compass Protection 10™ customers move to the front of the line. When you call, we schedule you first — before new customers, before non-members. Comfort emergencies get same-day dispatch whenever weather and route allow.

Transparent Exclusions

What Compass Protection 10™ does not cover.

We publish the exclusions right next to the inclusions. No surprises. No fine print buried on page seven. If you have questions about any item, ask before you sign — that's how a warranty should work.

  • Refrigerant recovery or recharge
  • Capacitors
  • Contactors
  • Control boards
  • Thermostats
  • Float switches
  • Pressure switches
  • Condensate pumps

  • Flood damage
  • Lightning strikes
  • Power surges
  • Corrosion
  • Salt-air damage
  • Pest / rodent damage

Why We Created It

Confidence, not sales pressure.

Most HVAC warranties are written to protect the manufacturer and the contractor — not the homeowner. A customer pays for a major installation, and a year later discovers that a compressor is "covered under parts" but the labor bill to replace it is thousands of dollars. That's not a warranty. That's a disclaimer.

Compass Protection 10™ was built the other direction. Ten years of parts. Ten years of labor on the components that actually fail. Twenty scheduled tune-ups so the system stays inside its performance envelope. Priority when a homeowner calls, because loyal customers should not wait behind first-time callers.

We don't pay technicians on commission and we don't run high-pressure sales appointments. Compass Protection 10™ is how we back that promise — quietly, in writing, for a decade.

Locally owned. Family operated. Florida Class-A license CAC1824400.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything homeowners ask us about Compass Protection 10™.

Is refrigerant included in Compass Protection 10™?+

No. Refrigerant, along with refrigerant recovery and recharge labor, is excluded. Refrigerant is a consumable regulated by the EPA, and its cost varies significantly year to year. We disclose this up front so there are no surprises later.

Can I transfer the warranty if I sell my home?+

In most cases, yes. Manufacturer parts coverage transfers according to the manufacturer's published transfer terms. The Maritime Air labor and maintenance portion may be transferred once to a new homeowner with written notice and a small administrative fee.

What happens if I move to a home outside your service area?+

The warranty stays with the equipment and the property. If you move away, the buyer of your home inherits eligibility to transfer coverage. Coverage cannot follow you to a new system at a new address.

Do I have to perform maintenance to keep coverage active?+

Yes. Scheduled maintenance is the single most important condition. Missing scheduled visits or refusing recommended safety-related service can void labor coverage on failures caused by neglect. We make it easy — we schedule and remind you.

What systems qualify for Compass Protection 10™?+

New residential split systems, package units, and heat pumps installed by Maritime Air Co. using manufacturer-matched components. Retrofits, partial replacements, and equipment installed by other companies are not eligible.

How do I schedule my maintenance visits?+

You don't have to remember. We reach out at the beginning of each season and offer date windows. You confirm the one that works. Every visit is logged against your equipment record.

What voids coverage?+

Unauthorized repairs, tampering with refrigerant lines, missed maintenance, use of non-OEM parts by another company, physical abuse of equipment, and any exclusion listed in the signed warranty agreement.

What happens after ten years?+

Coverage ends at year 10. You'll be offered continued maintenance through the Captain's Cooling Club and can evaluate replacement options at that time. Many systems last well beyond 10 years when maintained on this schedule.

Are capacitors and contactors really not covered?+

Correct. Capacitors and contactors are wear components. They're inexpensive to replace and can fail from Florida heat, humidity, or power fluctuations that are outside our control. We test them at every maintenance visit so you can address them before they cause a breakdown.

What if a covered component fails — what's the process?+

Call us. We diagnose the failure. If the failed part is covered, we handle the manufacturer warranty claim and complete the repair. Your out-of-pocket for covered failures is $0 in labor and $0 in parts.

Does salt air near the coast affect coverage?+

Salt-air corrosion is excluded because it's environmental, not a manufacturing defect. For coastal and marine-adjacent homes we recommend coastal-rated coil coatings and more frequent condenser rinsing — both discussed at install.

What if lightning takes out the system?+

Lightning and power surges are excluded — that's a homeowner insurance claim. We strongly recommend a whole-home surge protector at install, which we can add for a modest cost and which protects far more than the HVAC system.

Do I get anything in writing?+

Yes. Every Compass Protection 10™ customer receives a signed warranty agreement with clear coverage, exclusions, and transfer terms — plus a documented maintenance record after every visit.

Is this an insurance policy?+

No. Compass Protection 10™ is a manufacturer + contractor warranty program administered directly by Maritime Air Co. It is not an insurance product, is not sold by a third party, and has no monthly premium.

How much does it cost?+

Compass Protection 10™ is included at no additional charge on qualifying installations. It is not sold separately. You get it because you chose Maritime Air.

Can I add coverage for the excluded parts?+

Yes. The Captain's Cooling Club offers ongoing wear-part discounts and priority repair pricing on capacitors, contactors, thermostats, and other consumables not covered under Compass Protection 10™.

What documentation do I keep?+

Your signed agreement, your equipment record (model + serial numbers), and every maintenance visit report. In the future, all of this will live in your Compass customer portal.

What if I'm not home during a maintenance visit?+

That's fine for outdoor work if we have gate access. For any indoor testing we need an adult on site. We schedule around your calendar.

Does this work on commercial equipment?+

Compass Protection 10™ is designed for residential systems. Commercial and light-commercial installations are covered under a separate service agreement tailored to the equipment class and duty cycle.

Why should I trust Maritime Air to honor this for a full decade?+

Because we live here. Devon founded the company in Fort Pierce, is raising his family here, and holds Florida Class-A license CAC1824400. We aren't a franchise chasing an exit — we're building a company we plan to hand to our kids. Ten years from now, we'll still be answering the phone.

One decision today. Ten years of comfort behind you.

Ask about Compass Protection 10™ during your replacement estimate. We'll show you the equipment options that qualify and walk you through the agreement in plain English — no pressure, no theatrics.
