Standard Carrier residential warranty

Registered within 90 days of installation:

  • 10-year parts limited warranty (compressor, coils, motors, boards)
  • 10-year compressor limited warranty
  • Unregistered defaults to 5-year parts — you lose half the coverage automatically

What Carrier warranties do NOT cover

These are the most common claim denials we see across the industry.

  • Labor (typically covered separately by your installing dealer's labor warranty)
  • Refrigerant (R-410A or R-454B is consumable, not a warranty part)
  • Damage from improper installation by a non-authorized installer
  • Damage from missed maintenance — Carrier asks for service records on major claims
  • Damage from corrosive coastal air without coil rinses (within 1/2 mile of saltwater)
  • Power surge damage (a $150 surge protector at the disconnect prevents this)

Carrier offers a limited 1-time transfer for $99 if filed within 90 days of property transfer. We can file the transfer for you.

Does maintenance from a non-Carrier dealer count for warranty purposes?+

Any qualified HVAC contractor's maintenance record is generally accepted, but Carrier-dealer records are never questioned and process fastest in a claim.
