Registered within 90 days of installation:
- 10-year parts limited warranty (compressor, coils, motors, boards)
- 10-year compressor limited warranty
- Unregistered defaults to 5-year parts — you lose half the coverage automatically
What Carrier warranties do NOT cover
These are the most common claim denials we see across the industry.
- Labor (typically covered separately by your installing dealer's labor warranty)
- Refrigerant (R-410A or R-454B is consumable, not a warranty part)
- Damage from improper installation by a non-authorized installer
- Damage from missed maintenance — Carrier asks for service records on major claims
- Damage from corrosive coastal air without coil rinses (within 1/2 mile of saltwater)
- Power surge damage (a $150 surge protector at the disconnect prevents this)
