Brand Profiles
Rheem
Founded 1925 · Atlanta, GA
The dependable value brand.
Rheem is the best value brand in the lineup. The Prestige series delivers 80–90% of Carrier Infinity performance at 70–80% of the price, and the Classic Plus is the smart-money pick for homeowners who want reliable two-stage cooling without paying for a top-tier badge. Rheem also offers the strongest conditional replacement warranty in the industry on Prestige models.

Founded 1975 · Waller, TX
The honest workhorse.
Goodman has improved dramatically under Daikin ownership and we recommend it confidently for homeowners on a budget, rental properties, and replacements where the goal is reliable cooling at the lowest honest price. The lifetime compressor warranty on premium tiers is real and we've redeemed it more than once on customer behalf. That said, for a forever home we'd usually steer toward Trane or Carrier — the cabinet build quality and resale value differences are real. Installation quality matters more than the badge: a Goodman installed correctly outlasts a Trane installed poorly every time.
