“My highest recommendations for Devon and the Maritime Air team — thorough, honest, and on time. They explained everything in plain language and didn't push any unnecessary upsells.”
Carrier heat pumps (25HCB6, 25HPB6, 25VNA0, Infinity 24VNA) cover both cooling and heating from a single outdoor unit. When something goes wrong, it usually shows up as a refusal to heat, weak heating output, or a unit that won't switch modes. We diagnose the reversing valve, defrost board, sensors, and auxiliary heat strips on every call.

Cold snaps on the Treasure Coast are short but real. When the heat pump fights back, the cause is usually one of these.
Below ~40°F outdoor temp, a heat pump's capacity drops and the auxiliary electric heat kicks in. On the Treasure Coast that happens a handful of times a year. If you're seeing your electric bill spike during those cold weeks, the auxiliary strips are doing most of the work — sometimes because a sensor or board has failed and the heat pump itself is locked out.

“Working with Devon on my HVAC system was a great experience from start to finish. Fair, clean install, and the system has been running perfectly through Florida summer heat.”
Real installs and repairs we've completed across the Treasure Coast.

Usually a stuck reversing valve, a failed defrost board telling the unit to stay in defrost, or low refrigerant. We diagnose with pressure readings and a magnet test on the reversing valve solenoid.
If the auxiliary heat strips are running when they shouldn't be, you'll see 2–3× normal cooling-month bills. A failed outdoor sensor or thermostat lockout setting is the most common cause.
Probably not — a heat pump in Florida costs almost nothing extra to install, and the few cold nights a year are noticeably cheaper to heat with the heat pump than with electric strips alone.
